Management Skills training

Many people occupy management positions without having been trained in essential aspects of the role. They have achieved their progress through experience in the job, technical or job-related expertise, or exam-based qualifications. If this is the situation, it is not enough.

The acquisition of core management skills enables people to see their roles in a new light: not just to learn how to do things, but what is important, how to prioritise, and recognise the importance of key factors like communication and structure.

Why is training in Management Skills important?

Without a good understanding of the basic principles of management, or the ability to make decisions and deal with change in a professional manner, any manager will struggle to perform at their best.

By attending a training course, even the most experienced manager will acquire new ideas or be reminded of things which they may have sidelined; new or aspiring managers will find the experience utterly uplifting.   All will return to work energised and ready to put their skills into action.

Our management skills training courses are provided in two ways.

The first is to provide a general overview of what is needed, in either a one-day or a two-day format. These courses cover an understanding of management, motivation and learning, as well as practical aspects like setting objectives and coaching. The two day course also covers topics like assertiveness, delegation, feedback and even dealing with difficult situations. If you can spare the additional day, you will find it extremely rewarding.

The second set of courses deal with specific skills.
Our Decision Making course ensures that delegates have the skills and confidence to not only make decisions, but to do so is an informed, rational and productive way.
In response to the growing need for Change Management skills in a world where the rate of change is continually increasing, our course provides an understanding of the nature of change as well as subjects like dealing with resistance, stress and even anger.
