How can I display more toolbars?

All You Have to do is, choose Toolbars from the View menu and select the toolbar you want (an active toolbar has a check next to its name).

How do I move the toolbars?

Click on the left edge of the toolbar (the mouse pointer will turn into a four-headed pointer). Then drag the toolbar to any edge for a toolbar or anywhere else on the screen for a floating palette.

Can I add or remove items from the menus?

Sure. Choose Toolbars from the View menu, Select Customize. Once the Customize dialog box is open you can drag unwanted items off of any of the menus.

How do I change the default margins?

Ok. Choose Page Setup from the File menu. Then Click on the Margins tab. set the margins the way you want them, and then click on Default. Word will inform you that this change will affect all documents based on the Normal template.

Is there a faster way than the Thesaurus to find synonyms?

You can see a list of synonyms by right-clicking on a word, then choosing Synonyms from the menu.

How do I share a document with someone who doesn't have my version of Word?

Choose Save As from the File menu. Then go to Save as type box and select the file type you want to use.

What’s the difference between serif and sans serif fonts, why are they used?

Serif and Sans Serif fonts are appropriate for use in different types of documents. Serif fonts should be used in long documents as they are generally more readable. Sans Serif fonts should be used for short headlines or advertisements with few words.

How can I add icons to a toolbar in Word?

Right click on any toolbar; the pop-up menu will become visible, select Customize. Select the Commands tab. choose the required category of command such as, File, Edit etc. In the command section of the dialog box, select the required icon. Drag and drop the icon to a toolbar and close the dialog box.
