PRESENTATION TRAINING

Improve your confidence and effectiveness in front of people

Remember that we're always here to help, so please ask us if you can't find what you want

Effective presentation skills can benefit you in several ways, both in and out of the office. Whether you are pitching a new idea to your team, selling to a client, or trying to persuade your colleagues, being able to present your ideas in a clear and engaging way can mean the difference between success and failure.

Unfortunately, however, very few people are born as natural presenters, and the thought of speaking in front of an audience is a very intimidating prospect for many people. The good news is that, like everything else, presentation skills can be learned and improved over time.

If you have to give presentations or carry out any public speaking, and you want to improve your skills, attending a presentation skills training course will help you overcome your nerves, banish your preconceptions, and give you the confidence you need to create and deliver effectively in any environment.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ABOUT PRESENTATION SKILLS TRAINING

Presentation skills apply everywhere

The Sales environment is the obvious place where this is required. The need to present a winning case for your customer to choose you for their goods or services is probably the most high profile scenario, and one which -- rightly -- attracts the most attention. The difference between a salesperson who is effective in this situation and one who isn't can make or break a career.

But there are many other situations where presentation skills come into play. You may need to deliver presentations to senior management, work colleagues or those you manage. Sometimes this is an ad hoc or even one-off requirement. Here, too, the person who can present well will be more successful than the one who can't -- even if the occasion is not directly related to an immediate objective.

Consider the job interview, and from the viewpoint of the interviewer as well as the interviewee. Much is rightly made of the need for a job candidate to give the right impression, and some jobs -- especially in sales or at a management level -- involve a presentation of some kind. But it is important for the hirer to give a good account of themselves, too, and when recruiting for senior positions, they will often face questions that are best fielded in a way that inspires confidence and optimism, albeit in a much more informal way.

Don't forget personal situations too. It's not too much of a stretch to apply these thoughts to social occasions or public speaking engagements, where these skills will of course apply more to how you conduct yourself or address people than to any kind of structured activity.

You will (almost) always win !

This isn't to say that good presentation skills will win every time. Sometimes, the audience has already made up their minds, or through no fault of yours, you can't actually give them what they want. But if you present well, you will leave a good impression anyway, which is never a bad thing. And in the fullness of time, you will find that the acquisition and continual development of presenting skills will win you more allies, success, and self esteem, than if you choose to muddle through.

The need for training

Training -- whether you need beginner or advanced presentation skills -- is a key to success at an organisational, career and personal level. With that in mind, your task is to find the right training courses, and the right people to deliver them for you.
